Sinds eind juni ben ik gezegend met een bijzonder fijne kamergenoot, genaamd Ruth D. Onze kamer heeft de bijnaam 'Ruth Square', waarvan de logica u waarschijnlijk niet zal ontgaan.
Ruth D. is de beste kamergenoot die men zich kan wensen.Soms brengt ze me ontbijt op bed.
Soms kijken we samen een chickflick terwijl we de was opvouwen.
Soms bespreken we de dag, onze highlights en al onze grote en minder grote problemen.
We delen tandpasta, kleren, sieraden en chocolademelk.
We delen ons leed als de wekker om 5:45 gaat voor morning exercise.
Het grootste gedeelte van de tijd heb ik geen idee waar ze uithangt, en over het algemeen lig ik al lang en breed in bed als zij gaat slapen, maar een betere kamergenoot kan ik me niet wensen!
En dan kan ik eindelijk in het openbaar melden wat ik al langer weet, maar pas sinds kort degenen om wie het gaat ook:
19 september ben ik bij de bruiloft van Arend en Lenneke!
Het had heel wat voeten in de aarde, maar alles is in kannen en kruiken: voordat ik naar Cambodja vlieg, vlieg ik in 48 uur naar Amsterdam en terug naar Geneve, en in die 48 uur woon ik een bruiloft bij!

Ruth D. is the best roommate men could wish for.
Sometimes she brings me breakfast in bed.
Sometimes we watch a chickflick while folding our laundry.
Sometimes we process our day, our highlights, our big and less big problems.
We share toothpaste, clothes, jewelry and hot chocolate.
We share the suffering when the alarm rings at 5:45 am for morning exercise.
Usually I have no idea where Ruth D is at, and usually I'm already in bed and asleep when she goes to bed, but I couldn't wish for a better roommate!
And finally I can tell in public what I already knew for a while, but the people who's it about only since today:

It was quite some effort, but now everything is sorted: before flying to Cambodia, I fly from Geneva to Amsterdam and back in 48 hours, and in those 48 hours I will attend the wedding!
